Tulse Hill CPZ: Listen to Residents!

Thursday, 17 April, 2014

Conservative Candidates for Thurlow Park ward Irene Kimm, Graham Pycock and Luke Tryl have called on Labour-run Lambeth Council to re-consult local residents after it has become clear the CPZ is creating more difficulties than it solves.

The blanket 8:30am - 6:30pm controlled parking zone makes it difficult for Thurlow Park residents to have visitors, see trades people, take deliveries or go shopping. This not only makes it harder for families but is damaging to business too. Because it's so restrictive it is also displacing cars into those areas that don't have the CPZ, meaning residents can't even park outside their own homes.

Irene says “The 10 hour CPZ is anti-family and damaging to local shops. Despite Lambeth Councils claim they cannot afford to reconsult our research suggest that Lambeth have made over £100,000 since the CPZ was introduced which is more than enough to carry out a review”.
