General Election 2019 - A message from our Chairman

Every election is important, but this election will determine the future of our country for many generations.

Over the few last months we have seen the effects of minority government: it has resulted in political wrangling, posturing and indecision that has been terrible for our country. We need to move on.

As it is a snap election, an Association like ours is without a candidate in place and unable to have a formal candidate selection process. In order to influence the candidate selection process your Officer team and the Executive Council has put forward to the Candidates’ Department three local candidates who have indicated they would like to be given the opportunity to represent us in Dulwich and West Norwood. We look forward to the adoption of our candidate and we look forward supporting and campaigning with them.

But this election is like no other; there is so much at stake.

We can’t take anything for granted.

As there is no such thing as a “safe seat”, we will also be out helping candidates in marginal seats in Wandsworth and Westminster and we hope you will join us.

There are lots of ways you can help. You can delivering election literature, canvass to understand the issues on the door step, and on social media. Until polling day there will be telephone canvassing sessions at Millbank.

It is only a majority Conservative Government that will take the decisions and deliver on them to move our country forward.

This election we need you, not just for your vote but to help us in whatever way you feel you can.

Get in touch with us if you want to help the campaign to move our country forward.

I would like to thank those of you who have already volunteered.

We will soon release a campaign timetable which we hope will help you plan, and we look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the weeks ahead.

Yours with thanks and appreciation for being members and for all you will do to help.
