Train Cuts
I support the Conservative Campaign to keep the current existing train services to Luton and Bedford.
We need our local train service to serve existing stops into the City including St. Pancras International, Farringdon and City Thameslink.
Catharine Maloney,
This is a big backward step - if this goes ahead we would have a worse service than 30 years ago! South London has been disgracefully neglected anyway as far as transport goes - how can they even contemplate this?

I don't understand - I thought we were to be encouraged to use public transport, but increasingly find it is run for the train company's benefit not the passengers.
Janine Griffith,
It is unacceptable to have a downgraded service.
Rosemary Smith,
I, also, am sick to death about First Capital Connect(Thmaeslink as was). I am luckier than most by being retired but I used to get the 57 or 27 mins train to Wimbledon practically every day. Now I can't because of the silly attitude of the firm. Even the drivers hate it
Yvonne Brett,
Without a link from Herne Hill to St Albans, via St Pancras, it is very difficult to look after my grandchildren when my daughter is at work.
Derek Graydon,

Is there a wider non party political campaign going on? If not should we start one? It is great that someone has taken leadership but this is an issue for everyone of any party and for all areas served by the Wimbledon Loop.

Phillip Farnsworth,
We face repeated cancellations due to there not being enough drivers. Can't FCC start employing some ? Surely they are in breach of their franchise if they are not supplying the services they were contracted to ?
John Peter Schofield,
Everyone knows inner-South London needs more, not less, public transport. Everyone except Thameslink and the Government apparently.

This would be harmful to all travellers especially those coming from the South & those travelling abroad with heavy luggage. Think Channel Tunnel, Luton and Gatwick Airports. Think Barbican and British Library. Think of greatly increased pedestrian use of Blackfriars. This would maximise inconvenience to all. Is this real? I can't find it on the Thameslink website.

The increased frequency of trains through Loughborough Junction since ~1994 were a great improvement and have attracted additional passengers since then.
The facility to travel straight on to the City, St. Pancras and beyond is a facility which should not be closed down especially when the service is over-stretched as it is.
C Wooldridge,
Use of the car has been restricted, and now they want to cut our rail service. This train is overcrowded both mornings & evenings and is used regularly during the day. Why then are they proposing to cut the service - it would indeed be a disaster for those in the area?

This would be an absolute disaster. We must not let it happen. Why is there not a wider campaign to prevent this from happening?
