Flooding on Salters Hill: An update
The pavement on Salters Hill, by the railway bridge, is often flooded by water coming off the bank. This makes the path dangerous, as pedestrians might slip and fall on to the road.
Back in March, we demanded that the Council fix this problem. We have now received the following reply from council officers:
“… Extensive drainage work is required to resolve the problem. In order for the work to be carried out, independent quotations are required. The Technical Officer has advised me that he is still waiting for one quote.
Further to your suggestion to cut a channel by the wall. A joint inspection has been arranged with Lambeth Highways Department and the Technical Officer. This meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 11 August 2009.”
Andrew says: “Once the Council has received its price quotes and inspected the site, we will be pushing it again so that action is taken.”
