The impact of Gordon Brown’s recession has hurt many households’ budgets in Dulwich and local Conservatives are doing their best to help Southwark residents cope by imposing a total freeze on your Council Tax bills this year. 

Conservative Councillors, who hold the balance of power in Southwark, insisted that the Council Tax should be frozen – which together with Boris Johnson’s freeze on the Mayoral precept, means that for the first time ever you will not be paying a penny more in Council Tax than last year. In the past both Labour and the Liberal Democrats had no hesitation in making massive increases in Council Tax.

This has been achieved by bringing to an end the profligate spending by Ken Livingstone, and focusing expenditure at the Town Hall on delivering efficient front line services.
