A number of trees have been lost on Oaks Avenue.  We have been pushing the Council to replace them during the next planting season, which runs from October to March.

The Council has told us:

“[We] can confirm Oaks Avenue and in particular these pits are on our planting list for replanting in the coming season, subject to funding and a site survey.

In response to your question about the tarmac in the pit outside Oakdene House, Lambeth Highways carry out routine highway inspections and as part of their inspections, they will bring to our attention any pits that are posing a trip hazard.  We would therefore request that the pit is temporarily capped off to remove the trip hazard, until it is possible to replant.”

We are pleased that Oaks Avenue has been put on the list for new trees, but obviously we will be watching to ensure that funds are found for this.
